After earning her undergraduate degree in Spanish magna cum laude from DePauw University in 1998, Ms. White returned home to New Mexico to attend law school, gaining admission to the State Bar in 2002. Early in her career, Ms. White worked for the New Mexico Judiciary at both the trial and appellate court levels. She soon found her professional home in private practice at YLAW. During her nearly two decades with the firm, her litigation practice has been wide-ranging but has consistently emphasized the defense of civil rights and premises liability claims. Although Ms. White has experience in every aspect of civil litigation, from evaluating exposure before a lawsuit has been filed through jury trial and appeal, she has recently chosen to devote her practice to legal research and writing. In this role, she works in close collaboration with her colleagues to ensure clients benefit from the unique talents of each of the firm’s attorneys.
Ms. White is admitted to practice before all New Mexico state and federal courts, as well as the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. She is a longtime member of the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association, previously serving on its Board of Editors. She has also served as an attorney coach for a Title I high school mock trial team and as a high school booster club officer and member. She is an avid fan of Big 12 football and enjoys board games, golf and organizing other people’s messes.
